No weather. Only a few articles per day on the home page per day. Whyd they change it. I want the old app back!

I am so happy with the new OC app, the content and features are great! I am currently traveling and being able to access interesting stories in a matter of seconds makes it very easy for me to follow news back home in Ottawa. When time is of the essence and you want to keep up to date with Ottawa news this is the app for you! Keep up the good work guys!

Awesome, has all the stories I need each day with simple navigation.

Not liking the new app. The filters on the old one were much better, it also looked a lot cleaner. This new app looks like a trial run. The original was nice looking and great set up. This one looks cheap, from the set up to the logo.

Wish I didnt downloaded it. The other version was way better. Do yourself a favour and dont bother. It doesnt work

Terrible app in every respect. Where is the content? The old app was better in every possible way.

I hate this new app... Actually hate. I will be deleting this app. Garbage.

It really isnt very intuitive. It seems you have to work harder to find the content and the content you do find seems thin. I would avoid this app.

Bring back the old app!

Terrible. Loss of functionality. No sections no comments, and annoying giant ad banner at the bottom. Not to mention irritating ads that pop up between pages that take forever to load. Why would you release a new app thats so much worse than the original ?

Hate this new app, I deleted it. The old one was much better. Sometimes things dont need to be changed!!

I loved the old Ottawa Citizen app and would use it all throughout the day to keep up on the latest news. I enjoyed being able to read full stories and being able to access the same content that was on the website and in print. This new version is totally useless. There is no substance or content to articles. I want more than brief summaries and simple factoids. I want the news! I think its a big mistake to move to a Buzz Feed/Twitter style for news delivery. Not everyone wants their news dumbed down. Needless to say, after trying it for a few weeks, I will certainly not be using this new app. I am tremendously disappointed to lose such a fantastic news source.

As soon as I was forced to download this new app, I was disappointed with it. But, I still waited almost a week before wording a review. Im disappointed that the "creative" team at the Citizen thought that basically reducing coverage to about 20% (no world news anymore, sadly) removing 90% of a news story and filling the space with small quotes would appease a readers need to know what is going on in this city, country, or world. Its useless to me, doesnt give me any sense of what it important, and even cuts a story so short that key words from the title dont even show up in the story. Its a loss of context, which is so important to readers. Is there a way for me to get the old app back? Can I pay for a longer news article? Im so disappointed as I was a daily iPhone Citizen reader. I used to pride myself on being able to say that I read the newspaper every day, and now, I cannot say that. Im totally turned off by this app, and less likely to even check the app for breaking news. Im desperately looking for a way to get informed daily on my iPhone! Why oh why fix something that I never saw as broken?

I am greatly disappointed with this app, its slow to load news the reports are uninformative and shocking short also the comments section has been removed. I dont know what the Ottawa citizen was thinking when they created this but I would like them to bring back the old app. Not worth your time downloading/"upgrading"

Not liking this new update! Articles are lacking detail, I dont like the page layout, and theres no world news?! Wishing for the old app back :(

No content anymore, twitter version of articles, useless; deleted from my phone

I love this new app! The interactivity is really cool. The big pictures and graphics make it feeling a magazine. Love it!

This new version is really bad. Loads extremly slow, not iphone 4 friendly at all. Miss the old news filters like Offbeat, latest update, etc.. Also the old app could preload the news, i used to open the app load new news and then read when i was away from a wifi area, now i need to be on the internet to fetch news all the time. News articles contain little content compared to before. Dont like it and if no update comes out to fix how slowly this app runs on my phone i will delete it.

As a heavy user of previous, iphone app, I am seeing less articles and less content within each. I will reserve final judgement after 2-3 weeks of using new app. UPDATE I was too optimistic with my original review - I didnt even give this app an additional 2-3 minutes, let alone days or weeks! A couple of things: 1) the thing I find most insulting: citizen editors publishing a watered down version of a full article. They are telling us what parts of the article they think is important! Its equivalent to the days in university when you pick up a used text book and a previous owner entered highlighter throughout - so annoying and a huge distraction! 2) I keep the old app so I can quickly link to the new app on the App Store. This way I can keep up on how bad the reviews can get! Two words EPIC FAIL!
